Discord
Most FiveM communities already run everything through Discord. Connecting your Discord server to your organization lets the dashboard work with it directly. You connect it once, on the Discord page, and two features use it:
- Applications. Players apply with their Discord account. Every new application is posted in a staff channel you pick, with buttons to vote, accept or deny, and the players you accept get the Discord roles you chose right away. See Applications.
- Staff access. Your staff can get into the dashboard with a Discord role they already have, for example your Staff or Whitelist Team role, so you do not have to invite each of them. See Discord access.
Before you start
Discord servers are part of the paid plans. How many you can connect depends on your plan:

You also need:
- Discord set to Manage in the dashboard. The owner always has it. For anyone else, it comes from their dashboard role, see Roles.
- The Manage Server permission in the Discord server. Server owners and admins have it.
- A server that is not connected anywhere else. A Discord server can belong to only one Qbox organization.
Connect your server
On the Discord page, press Connect a server. A window called Connect a Discord server takes you through three steps. It calls the bot "the Qbox Apply bot"; that is the same Qbox bot these docs talk about.
1. Connect your own Discord account
The dashboard checks that you have the Manage Server permission in the server you pick, so it needs to know which Discord account is yours. If the step is not marked Done, press Open connected accounts, press Connect next to Discord under Connected accounts, and come back to the Discord page afterwards.
2. Add the Qbox bot to your server
Press Add the bot. Discord opens in a new tab. Pick your server and leave the permissions it asks for switched on:

3. Paste your server ID
Paste your server's ID into Server ID and press Connect. To find the ID:
- In Discord, open User Settings, then Advanced, and switch on Developer Mode.
- Right-click your server's icon in the server list on the left.
- Choose Copy Server ID and paste it into the dashboard.

Sometimes Discord sends you straight back to the dashboard after you add the bot, with the server ID already filled in. You still need to press Connect.
When you press Connect, the dashboard checks, in this order, that:
- your plan has room for another server,
- your own Discord account is connected,
- the Qbox bot is in the server,
- you have the Manage Server permission there,
- the server is not connected to another Qbox organization.
If one of these fails, the window tells you which one. The fixes are under Troubleshooting.
Keep the server healthy
Every connected server is listed under Discord servers with its name, its ID, and how much uses it (for example "Used by 2 forms · 1 staff role"). Next to it is a badge:

Press Check to run the check again. Do it after you set up a form, and whenever you change roles or channel permissions in Discord.
The check only looks at the channels and roles your application forms use. It does not look at the Discord roles you use for staff access.
These are the problems it can find:

| A role belongs to another bot | That role is controlled by another bot or integration and cannot be given out by hand. Pick a normal role in the form's settings |
| A role you picked is gone | It was deleted in Discord. Pick a different role in the form's settings |
| A channel you picked is gone | It was deleted in Discord. Pick a different review channel in the form's settings |
| The bot cannot post in a channel | Give the bot View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in that channel, under Edit Channel → Permissions |
Disconnect a server
Open the ⋯ menu next to the server and choose Disconnect. Before anything happens, the dashboard asks you to confirm and explains what changes:
- Forms set to use that server stop reaching it.
- Its Discord roles stop giving dashboard access. Anyone whose access came only from that server loses it at their next check. People you invited by email keep their membership.
- The links between that server's Discord roles and your dashboard roles are deleted. If you connect the server again later, you set them up again.
Only the organization owner can disconnect a server whose Discord roles give sensitive dashboard access.
When your plan is full
Once every server on your plan is in use, Connect a server disappears and the page says, for example, "You are using all 3 Discord servers on the Duck plan. Disconnect one to swap it, or move up a plan for more."
If you move to a smaller plan, the servers you already connected keep working. The limit only counts when you connect a new one.
Troubleshooting
"Connect your own Discord account first (step 1), then come back and connect the server." Your dashboard account has no Discord account connected. Press Open connected accounts in step 1, connect Discord, and try again.
"The Qbox Apply bot is not in that Discord server. Add it with the button in step 2, then try again." The bot was not added, or it was added to a different server. Press Add the bot again, pick the right server, and check that the ID you pasted belongs to that server.
"You need the Manage Server permission in that Discord server. Ask its owner to connect it, or to give you that permission." The Discord account connected to your dashboard account cannot manage that server. This also happens when you connected a different Discord account (an alt, for example) than the one that runs the server. Ask the server owner to connect it, or to give you that permission.
"That Discord server already belongs to another Qbox organization. Disconnect it there first." Someone connected it to a different organization, possibly an old one of yours. Disconnect it from that organization first.
"Your plan has no room for another Discord server. Disconnect one, or move up a plan under Billing." Every server on your plan is in use. See When your plan is full.
"Discord is rate limiting us. Wait a few seconds and try again." Discord asked us to slow down for a moment. Wait a few seconds and press Connect again.
"A server ID is a long run of digits, like 1090123456789012345" You pasted a link or a server name. Copy the ID with Copy Server ID as described in step 3.
"The Qbox Apply bot is no longer in this Discord server, so its roles cannot be listed. Add it back, then reload this page." Someone removed the bot from your Discord server. Add it again with Add the bot, then reload the page.
"The bot's own role sits below this one, so it cannot give it out. Move the bot's role higher in your Discord server settings." You see this when picking Discord roles. In Discord, open Server Settings → Roles and drag the bot's role above every role you want it to give out.
Staff with the right Discord role still cannot get into the dashboard. Connecting the server is only the first half. You also choose which Discord roles give which dashboard access, under Members → Discord access. See Discord access.
